We met with the dozer guy last night to discuss some things we want to do with the land. For the most part it is pretty clear and flat, but there is a definite slope to the property. We are hoping to level that out some and raise the area where we would actually be putting our house. So while we were out there I took the opportunity to take some pictures. I’m hoping to get some shots at each stage in the process from the way it is now until the house is complete.
Here is a view of the property from the left, front corner.
This is a view from the right, front corner. You can kind of see the slope from this angle.
This is the view behind our four acres.
This is what I like to call “cue the deer.” If you’ve ever seen the movie Funny Farm, you’ll know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t seen it, basically this couple buys a house out in the country thinking they’ve found this quaint, little old farm town to live in. Well it turns out the town isn’t quite what they expected, so in an effort to sell the house to some other unsuspecting couple they pay the townspeople to pretend to be a quaint, Normal Rockwell community when perspective buyers are around. As people are viewing the house, they release deer to run across the property to add to the country charm. The first time we were looking at the property, a similar scene took place, and thus I said, “cue the deer.”
The property has four large trees in the back corner. This is one of my favorites.
