Movie Monday: Letters to God and The Crazies

[end]Letters to God

A young boy fighting cancer writes letters to God, touching lives in his neighborhood and community and inspiring hope among everyone he comes in contact…

This movie was made by the makers of Fireproof and Facing the Giants, so I knew it would be good. It’s definitely a tear-jerker, but the message is very worth the tears.

I give Letters to God 4 out of 5 stars

The Crazies

About the inhabitants of a small Iowa town suddenly plagued by insanity and then death after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply

I should start with the disclaimer that I don’t like scary movies. They give me nightmares, and I’m naturally a jump person, so creepy faces suddenly popping out of the dark are not necessary. I was intrigued by this movie though when I saw the previews, so I wanted to watch it, even if I watch part of it from under the blanket. The plot was actually a little different than I expected from the previews. Overall, it was OK, but I didn’t like the ending at all.

I give the Crazies 2.5 out of 5 stars.
