About WVUP Early College

WVUP Early College is a program that was started by WVU Parkersburg to give students a chance to earn college credits before graduation. They work with students all across the area, including those who are currently homeschooled. You can get started in your sophomore year and keep racking up the college credits while going through high school. By the time you start college, you are going to have a huge head start!
Services
If you decide you want to enroll in WVUP Early College, the very first thing you need to do is make sure you qualify. For enrollment, you must meet three criteria: 1) you must currently be a sophomore, junior, or senior, 2) you must maintain the GPA requirement of your current school, and 3) you must meet or exceed the required ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer placement score for specific courses. If all three apply to you, you can start classes!
The college offers classes both on campus and in Parkersburg high schools. If you do decide to take it from the comfort of your school, you can chat with your counselor or school administrator. They will be able to guide you through the application process and ensure you can get registered. From there, the credits will go both toward your high school diploma and your college degree.
Following graduation, your credits will instantly go toward your college of choice. Because they will show up as normal WVU credits, you should be able to transfer these to pretty much any four-year university. Whether you intend to stick with WVU or prefer to go literally anywhere in the country, you will be ready!

When you sign up for WVUP Early College classes, you will be able to enjoy all the other WVU services. This will include their tutoring and testing center, their career services department, and their library. You can even get a WVU student ID!
