The great Arch Quandary

The blueprints show an arch way in the entrance part of our front porch. We are still trying to decided whether or not we are going to keep it or not.
We are slightly concerned about how the beadboard soffit underneath will finish out with the arch. The other questionable part is the straight bump out that extends beyond the arch and how the two will meet up.
