Basement insulation

Today, we came up and added some extra insulation to the basement. Once they frame it in, they will be adding regular R-13 insulation, but this is a special rigid foam board that can sit behind the frame. It adds a little extra insulation value and also acts as a water barrier.

We especially wanted to insulate the open areas around the windows that are exposed to the outside.

We also did the back wall where a bedroom and bathroom will eventually be added.

This will be the unfinished area where the fuse box is located.

We also decided not to cut around the area where the hot water tank and furnace are located.
