Flash Mob

Uncategorized

While on the ship, I got to be part of a Flash Mob! I know – awesome – right!?!

For those of you that don’t know, a Flash Mob is:
is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire

So basically a group of random people all break out into, for example a dance, at a certain time and place unbeknownst to all the other people who are around.

Below is me, waiting paiently for the music to start. Totally being casual….

We had three practices throughout the week to learn the moves. All of the show dancers and ice skaters joined in, so the group would be larger than just the participating guests. We end up with a pretty big group.

I had a lot of fun with it!

Nathan kindly photographed it all for me.

I know it appears in the photo below that I am doing a different move than everyone else. This was the “freestyle” portion of our dance. There were like 3-5 consecutive thumps in the music and everyone was supposed to strike a new pose on each one. I just happen to be more original with mine 🙂

OK, so it wasn’t a “true Flash Mob” since technically the time and place was announced in the ship’s daily agenda, but not everyone knew and it was still lots of fun!
