Worldwide Photo Walk

Uncategorized

Today I went to Charleston to participate in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. All over the country, groups of photographers met up to take pictures around the cities. We actually had a pretty good size group in Charleston. I’m usually only into portrait photography, but today was actually a really neat experience. I haven’t had time to edit any of the photos, but as soon as I do, I’ll be sure to share them. The walk also gave me a really good opportunity to practice my settings and learning my camera. I spent the whole day with my camera on manual and really worked on nailing my exposure and understanding metering.

I also got to meet two of my Pea friends at the walk. There have been lots of get-togethers planned on the photo message boards on Two Peas in a Bucket, but I’ve never had the opportunity to make it to one. So when I saw a post about a West Virgina get-together, I was so excited! My family was a little nervous about me meeting up with strangers from the Internet, but it turned out that they were really nice ladies who happen to share my passion for photography. This is a picture of us just before we left on the walk. Left to right – Nicki, Carla, and myself. After the walk, we all went to lunch and had a great time getting to know one another. We are hoping to have another get-together some time this fall.
